LOST project funded!

The Norwegian Research Council released their decisions this week on the funding calls for 2021. The Bergen Telemetry Network is pleased to announce a new project will be added to the network- LOST is a three year project tracking Norway's fjord sharks and we will begin tagging sharks later this year with acoustic transmitters. Transmitters will include depth and acceleration sensors to help us track the energetics and ecological relationships of the sharks. The project will also allow us to add 30 new receivers in the outer fjord areas, which will enhance our tracking of sea trout and Atlantic salmon in other projects. This represents an exciting new expansion in scope for the network and we will keep our readers updated on progress throughout the year!
