Tagging of adult Atlantic salmon in Suldal

Earlier this year in Suldal, we tagged 75 wild smolts and 75 hatchery smolts with acoustic tags and 8000 hatchery smolts with PIT tags. During the past three weeks, we added 97 acoustically tagged adult wild salmon to the list. Now, we cannot wait to download the first data from the receivers and analyse Atlantic salmon’s in- and out-migration patterns in Sandsfjorden. Hopefully, the data increases our understanding on how anthropogenic activities and habitat alteration will affect their migration.
